Iranian women to rally in support of hijab observance

TEHRAN – Iranian women plan to hold a rally on July 8 to express their support for implementation of the hijab and dignity law approved in 2006.
The support rally will be held after Friday prayers all around the country, head Basiji Women, Minoo Aslani, announced on Sunday.Aslani also said in short-term workshops that will be held with the cooperation of the ministries of education and interior, a number of 200,000 female teachers are going to receive training about the ideology of hijab and dignity.
Aslani further called for all branches of government to make efforts to implement the law of hijab and dignity in the country.
She also announced the first international congress on praising noble women in observing hijab of dignity will be held during the coming 10-Day Dawn (Feb 1-11, 2012), a period marking the victory of the Islamic Revolution).
Aslani added women from different countries who are actively involved in social affairs and also observe hijab will be invited to attend the congress.
Basij commander, Mohammadreza Naghdi, has announced Basij is ready to help the law enforcement forces to enforce hijab and dignity law.
The law on enforcing hijab was approved by the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution on January 4, 2006
